Service Learning Students
Enlace Project organizes all in-country logistics for the SUNY Geneseo Service Learning Program in which groups of university students visit Nicaragua for a one-week to one-month period to complete individualized volunteer projects in the areas of health, education or business development.

El Sauce gives visitors a homey, welcoming feeling. It’s not very uncommon that you will hear “hola!” and “adios!” being shouted across the streets in your direction. The friendliness of the Sauceños is what has brought so many people back to visit the town.

Los Altos de Ocotal
Los Altos de Ocotal is a tourism cooperative is based in a remote mountain community of Ocotal, near El Sauce, where visitors can enjoy breathtaking views and the hospitality of this welcoming community.

Hand-made Pine Needle baskets
Enlace Project works with the rural women’s artisan cooperative Fuente de Pino that craft home decorations out of sustainable pine needles collected near their homes.

Coffee Farm at Los Altos de Ocotal
Enlace Project aids the rural coffee cooperative in the logistics of processing and packaging their own signature coffee beans and identifying local points-of-sale.

Las Minitas School Success
Enlace Project’s Academic and Volunteer Visitor Program organizes trips for private individuals and groups who wish to become involved in charitable efforts in the El Sauce area. One popular project that volunteer visitors have participated in is the fundraising and construction of rural elementary schools.
